Framed-Arts.com is pleased to offer most of our print selections as museum wrap canvas transfers. (Licensing and copyright prevent a small percentage of canvas transfers) Canvas transfer has become more popular in recent years with the advent of excellent transfer techniques. Art enthusiasts are able to own framed art with the look and feel of an original work on canvas at a fraction of the cost.

The transfer process is done by hand, one print at a time. The work begins with lifting the original inks from the print paper with a time consuming series of chemical treatments, water baths and drying which forms a thin film capturing the artwork. The ink and a thin layer of the original paper is separated and applied to a specially coated canvas uniquely designed to accommodate the transfer process. Upon drying, the newly transferred print is treated with a UV protective coating to preserve the brightness and color contrasts of the original for many years. The result is a stunning work on canvas requiring only an occasional dusting or damp cloth to maintain its beauty.

Framed-Arts.com will stretch your canvas over a custom built ‘stretcher bar’ to provide a flat, rigid support ready for display. The canvas is centered and placed over the stretcher bar support. The top edge is folded to the back side of the support bars and stapled, making sure the image remains centered. The bottom edge is held with a special canvas clamp and stretched to the rear side of the stretcher bar support and stapled. The corners are tightly folded and this process is repeated with the left and right sides. The result is an image stretched to the edge, with plain white sides continuing back to the wall. Framed-Arts.com offers museum wrap as is, unframed, or custom framed. Custom framed museum canvas wrap is a style which includes linen liners, but does not include mats and glass. All our display options are delivered with the appropriate hardware to simplify the hanging process.
